CCT in Moerdijk connected to Portbase

Portbase is the Port Community System which can be seen as the National platform for exchanging messages between all agents, terminals, port authorities and Governmental organizations (such as Customs, Immigration, veterinarian inspections) in the Dutch ports.

Terminals like ECT, Euromax, RWG, APM and Uniport are working with Portbase for many years already.

CCT Moerdijk will get connected soon, mainly triggered by the upcoming Brexit (29th of March 2019) which will create an increased number of Customs documents to be processed.

Portbase is offering a chain-wide solution for the Customs obligations and is complying with European legislation.

In this solution, each link in the logistics chain has its own role to play. This applies to you, to us as a shipping line and to all other parties involved, but most important to remember is that all information will precede the cargo.

This way of working reduces the number of mistakes, speeds up the logistical and port processes and allows each party to minimize their respective liability and administrative burden.

In the near future it will be even mandatory to pre-notify all Customs documents at the Dutch shortsea terminals (not only CCT!) via the Port Community System of Portbase. No pre-notified document means no access!
